The women's cross country team nearly upset 31st-ranked Elizabethtown in their season-opening dual meet, but lost on a tiebreaker with the score knotted 28-28. The men's team dropped a 42-17 decision to the 35th-ranked Blue Jays.

The Centennial Conference (CC) released its preseason cross country coaches polls, and Gettysburg's men's and women's teams were picked to finish seventh and fifth, respectively, mirroring both teams' finishes at last year's CC Championships.
